Description and style
The Iris Blanco Vermouth is the white expression of De Muller’s Iris range, crafted from the same century-old formula of 150 Mediterranean botanicals that defines the house, but with a selection specifically designed to enhance the citrusy and floral character of white vermouth. Its story shares roots with Iris Red: the secret formula of Cochs S.A., acquired by De Muller in 1999, which has been used since the mid-20th century without alteration.
The key difference between the White and the Red lies in the botanical composition. Iris Blanco stands out for its greater presence of citrus and flowers in the infusion, resulting in a more fresh, light and Mediterranean aromatic profile. The wine base is blended with a delicate combination of aromatic herbs, botanicals and natural roots, giving this white version a brighter floral and citrus expression. 🍋
Visually, it shows a very clear yellow colour with pale straw tones, bright and luminous. On the nose it is soft, penetrating and slightly alcoholic, with a distinctive floral-citrus aroma that makes it instantly recognisable. On the palate it is fresh, with a light passage and the balance between the sweetness of the botanicals and the acidity of the wine that defines the Iris style, finishing with an elegant bitterness that invites another sip.
This is the benchmark white vermouth of Reus’s vermouth tradition: best served very cold, over ice, with a twist of lemon or orange peel. Classic, elegant and made for the aperitif. 🥂
