Giniris Vermouth & Gin is De Muller’s most innovative expression: the first vermouth with gin from the historic winery in Reus, created for cocktail culture and for palates looking for a more distinctive aperitif with greater botanical depth.
Its concept is as simple as it is brilliant: to bring the essence of gin into the house’s most iconic vermouth. To achieve this, De Muller macerates juniper —the signature botanical of gin— for three months in French oak barrels, creating an essence with remarkable character. That essence is then blended into the artisanal mix of herbs, roots and flowers that forms the base of the Iris vermouths: a centenary formula with more than 150 Mediterranean botanicals inherited from the Cochs winery.
The result is a product with a category of its own, halfway between vermouth and gin: aromatic, botanical and with the sweet herbal profile of Iris lifted by the juniper, citrus and balsamic notes from the oak-aged infusion. Holy herb adds a distinctive and memorable bitterness, becoming one of the blend’s key ingredients. With —the highest in the De Muller range— it is especially versatile for premium cocktails: excellent in a Negroni, a vermouth Spritz, mixed with tonic water, or served very cold on its own. 🍸
