Description and style
The Iris Dorado Vermouth is the most widely consumed and best-known expression in the De Muller Iris range, and one of the most historically used bases for bulk vermouth served in the bars and taverns of Reus for decades.
It sits midway between Iris Red and Iris White: it shares the same century-old formula of 150 Mediterranean botanicals inherited from the Cochs S.A. winery (founded in 1947 and acquired by De Muller in 1999), but offers an aromatic profile that balances the herbaceous, spiced character of the red with a lighter, more approachable style. 🍸
Its amber-gold colour is bright and appealing. On the nose, it delivers the classic sweet and herbal Iris signature, with well-integrated notes of aromatic Mediterranean plants. On the palate, it is smooth, accessible and moderately sweet, with just the right amount of herbal bitterness to define it as an authentic vermouth without ever feeling aggressive.
A daily aperitif vermouth, ideal served very cold with ice and an orange slice, and especially popular for terrace drinking and group servings. 🙂
