Description and style
Miró Rosso is the founding vermouth of Emilio Miró Salvat S.A., the vermouth house from Reus established in 1914 and dedicated to vermouth since 1957, when Pere Miró moved production to the heart of Baix Camp and began crafting the family’s secret formula with Mediterranean and alpine botanicals.
That formula has remained unchanged and kept under the strictest family secrecy for more than half a century, forming the basis of the entire range. Rosso starts with quality wines from the Reus area, to which naturally aromatic Mediterranean and alpine herbs are added through cold maceration, carefully selected for their character and balance.
The result is a vermouth with a deep earth-red colour, mahogany highlights, and a highly expressive nose: an intense, fresh aromatic profile with marked balsamic notes and spicy layers that gently step ahead of the caramel tones. On the palate, it is richly spiced, with clear notes of rosemary, thyme, wormwood, cardamom, fennel, and licorice root, plus a subtle aniseed touch, a pleasant and lingering bitterness, and elegant citrus hints on the finish. The aftertaste is long and beautifully balanced. 🍷
With 15% alcohol, it is the entry vermouth in the Miró range: ideal for the Sunday aperitif, served neat over ice with orange, or as a base for mixed drinks with cava and Campari. Long finish and balanced bitterness make it especially versatile.
