Vermut Montseta Reserva is the pinnacle of the Montseta range and the expression that best reflects the house’s commitment to quality at its highest level. It follows the same artisanal recipe created by Josep Bellod, with infusion in clay vessels over six lunar phases and KM0 botanicals, but adds a decisive step that lifts it into a category of its own: 12 months in American oak barrels, compared with 3 months for the classic Rojo. 🍷
This fourfold ageing develops a remarkable organoleptic complexity. The biodynamic approach used by the house means the full process—from selecting the 30 botanicals to the oak rest—follows natural rhythms and the lunar cycle that have guided Montseta since its origins. The American oak brings a controlled oxidation that rounds out the botanicals, integrates the acidity, and softens the bitterness, creating a precise balance between sweetness, bitterness, and acidity.
In the glass, it shows greater aromatic depth than the Rojo, with gently integrated wood notes that enhance rather than mask the botanicals. On the palate it is elegant, full-bodied, and persistent, turning the aperitif into a slower, more contemplative tasting moment. Available in 75 cl bottle, 50 cl format, and 5L Bag in Box for hospitality and regular consumption. 🥂
