Description and style
Vermut Reserva De Muller is the premium reference of the historic vermouth range from the Tarragona winery founded in 1851 by Augusto de Muller y Ruinart de Brimont, and it stands at the very top of the house’s artisanal craftsmanship.
Its production is radically different from the Iris range: here, the aromatic herbs are not macerated in neutral tanks, but directly with part of the wine inside century-old wooden vats that had previously aged wines for years. This unique contact allows the blend to absorb the toasted nuances and subtle complexity of that historic wood, merging with the herbs to create a vermouth of remarkable elegance and expression. 🍷
After this singular maceration, the vermouth spends a long period of ageing in small oak foudres, which further rounds out its complexity and defines its final character. Deep dark brown in colour with bright amber reflections, the nose opens with an elegant roasted profile: toasted nuts, cocoa, coffee and a balsamic herbal background that makes it highly expressive.
, yet perfectly integrated with the sweetness of the vermouth and the notes of toasted dried fruit. It is well balanced, with a long balsamic finish and a distinctly premium identity.
The winery recommends serving it neat with ice, without additions, so it can speak entirely for itself. It is one of the most awarded vermouths in Spain and a regular reference in specialist guides.
